
 Introduction
Our Volunteer Centre exists to promote volunteering in all its various aspects. Volunteers are recruited and matched with vacancies in local organisations. Good practice in using volunteers or being a volunteer is promoted. Training sessions are held to encourage good practice in the recruitment, development and retention of volunteers.

Code of Expectations Volunteer Rights and Responsibilities
Rights
- Right of being offered the opportunity to be a volunteer
- Right to be respected, listened to and valued
- Right to be interviewed and given an induction when they start
- Right to training and supervision
- Right to be welcomed by paid staff and complement their work
- Right to a clear understanding of their tasks
- Right to receive the same insurance cover as employees
Responsibilities
- To be reliable and committed
- To work within the aims and objectives of the organisation
- To respect staff, other volunteers and clients
- To abide by the confidentiality policy of the organisation
- To be honest if there are any problems
- To keep supervisor advised of any change in circumstances
